As heart of the Camaro ZL1, the supercharged LT4 6.2L SC is the most powerful engine ever offered in a regular production Chevrolet. It features a more-efficient, more-compact 1.7L Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger, which spins at up to 20,000 rpm. That’s enough to generate more than 9 pounds of boost and help produce 650 horsepower and 630 lb.-ft. of torque.The LT4 is based on the same Gen V Small-Block architecture as the LT1 engine, with several unique features designed to support its higher output and the greater cylinder pressures created by forced induction. They include Rotocast A356T6 aluminum cylinder heads that are stronger and handle heat better than conventional castings, lightweight
titanium intake valves and stronger forged aluminum pistons.

The LT4 (PN 19431955) produces 650 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm from a 6.2L (376 cubic inch) Gen V small-block. A 1.7L Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger spinning up to 20,000 rpm delivers more than 9 psi of boost.
What vehicles did the LT4 come in, and what will it fit?
The LT4 was the factory engine of the 2015-2019 C7 Corvette Z06 and the 2016+ Camaro ZL1 (and the Cadillac CTS-V). As a crate engine it drops into muscle cars, trucks, and resto-mods when paired with a Connect & Cruise controller and the correct accessory drive.
What transmissions work with the LT4 Connect & Cruise package?
Chevrolet Performance offers the LT4 in Connect & Cruise packages with the 4L80E (4-speed), 6L80E (6-speed), 8L90E (8-speed), or 10L90E (10-speed) automatic. The controller ships pre-calibrated for a retrofit, so it runs without third-party tuning.
What's the difference between the LT4 and the naturally aspirated LT1?
The LT1 is a naturally aspirated 6.2L making 460 hp; the LT4 adds the 1.7L supercharger to reach 650 hp. Both are Gen V direct-injection small-blocks on the same architecture, so most accessories and mounts interchange.
Can I buy just the engine, or do I need the full Connect & Cruise package?
You can buy the bare LT4 crate engine (19431955) on its own. For a street swap the Connect & Cruise kit is worth it - it matches the engine to a compatible transmission, controller, and calibration. If you already know your combination, we can source the individual part numbers separately.
The LT4 is on back order everywhere - can you actually get one?
