Do I need anything else to install the rear assist steps?
Yes. These rear assist steps attach to the Chevrolet/GMC Accessories Rocker Protectors (86528352, Crew Cab). The ZR2 trim comes with these rocker protectors standard, since it is the off-road package and sits taller. Other trims would need the rocker protectors installed separately to mount these steps.
Do these steps fit trucks that are not ZR2?
In practice, these steps are bought almost exclusively by ZR2 owners, since the ZR2 is the only trim that comes standard with the rocker protectors these steps mount to. If your Colorado is not a ZR2, you would need to buy the rocker protectors separately to use these steps, and most non-ZR2 owners instead choose a different assist step or running board product made for their trim.
