Themanifold is a high-flow aluminum intake*, along with the gaskets andinstallation hardware. The chrome dress-up parts add a bright, finishing touch to the 350/290 HP.

It features four-bolt mains for strength and it’s filled with premium parts, including a smooth hydraulic camshaft and durable aluminum pistons that deliver an 8.5:1 compression ratio—making it a great, time-saving alternative to rebuilding a tired, two-bolt-main core engine.

This HP 290/350 is the best value crate engine from GMPerformance Parts, with 290 horsepower @ 5100 RPM,and 326 lb-ft. of torque @ 3750 RPM on 87 octane fuel.

The HP 290 horsepower will provide great durabilitybecause of its 4-bolt mains, PM steel rods, strong castaluminum pistons.
The camshaft has .450" intake and.460" exhaust lift with hydraulic flat tappets.
The cast ironcylinder heads have 1.94" intake and 1.50" exhaust valveswit 76 cc combustion chamber. These heads have theconventional 90 degree with 12 bolt intake manifoldattaching design used from 1955 thru late 1980 12 boltpostion @ 90° to the intake/headflange.
This engine wasdesigned to work with the following components:

This 350engine is not intended for marine use, and should be usedin 1979 and earlier pre-emissions street vehicles or any offroad usage.

This engine block has provisions for either a left or right hand dipstick.
The user must plug the unused side with a plug.(Not included)

Oil Pan / Filter / Adapter / Dipstick:
The 350/290 HP engine block has provisions for both right-hand and left-hand dipsticks. The 350/290 HP engineincludes a 4-quart oil pan Part number 10066039 which has the “double bump out” for both dipstick designs.The oil dipstick for the 350/290 HP engine for the right-hand (passenger) side of the block is 10190942 (indicator)and 12552920 (tube). If not using right-hand dipstick, use plug 09421743.

The oil dipstick for the 350/290 HP engine for the left-hand (driver) side of the block is 03951576 (indicator), and03876870 (upper tube). P/N 03951600 (lower tube) is installed at the factory.
If not using left-hand dipstick, useplug 93415510 to prevent an oil leak.
The 350/290 HP engine assembly does not include an oil filter adapter or oil filter element.
The 350/290 HP uses an AC # PF 454 or PF1218 oil filter

NOTE: The 290 horsepower was attained on the Dyno with the following specifications:

Carburetor.............670 CFM Holley P/N 19170092
Headers....1 3/4 inch diameter x 35 inch long with 3 inch collector
Timing.....34 degree BTDC total advance
